Loftia Platforms and Crossplay Status: What Is Actually Confirmed

Loftia platforms are settled for launch: Steam and the Epic Games Store, on PC and Mac, with Steam Deck support, all live with Early Access on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST (02:00 on November 4 in Beijing time). Nintendo Switch is confirmed for 2027 with no date attached. PlayStation, Xbox and mobile have not been announced at all. Crossplay is not confirmed either: the developers say it is something they are aiming for while they research and test it, that they cannot promise it yet, and the rule that comes with it is blunt, you buy the game on every platform you want to play it on.

  • Launch storefronts: Steam and Epic Games Store, Windows PC and Mac, with Steam Deck support.
  • Nintendo Switch: 2027, no date, and online play needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
  • PlayStation, Xbox, mobile: not announced, no dates to track.
  • Crossplay: still under evaluation, so plan on one purchase per storefront.
  • Buy-to-play: US$29.99 at launch, US$24.89 with the 17 percent launch discount.

Whichever storefront you pick, it is the same MMO:

The official platform line, identical on the FAQ and the Early Access page: "Loftia can be played via Steam and the Epic Games Store, on both Mac and PC. Nintendo Switch will come in 2027. Beyond the initial release, we will aim to officially support additional platforms. Loftia is fully playable with controller / gamepad, in addition to keyboard and mouse, and also supports the Steam Deck."

Official source: Loftia Early Access

That sentence about supporting additional platforms is a direction, not a roadmap: no console, no other handheld and no mobile version has a name, a window or a store attached.

Steam and Epic: two storefronts, one game

Both launch stores carry the same product: buy-to-play, no subscription, no paid expansions. The Early Access page states the pricing directly: "Loftia will be buy-to-play on Steam and Epic Games Store, with a base price of US$29.99. We will have a launch discount of 17% bringing the price down to US$24.89, along with regional pricing too." An optional cosmetics shop and Community Pass sit on top of that purchase.

As of October 22, 2026 no public Epic Games Store product page for Loftia could be found, even though the official page names Epic as a launch storefront. If you are Epic-first, that listing is the thing to watch; Steam is live and carries the free demo today. The release date and Early Access prep guide covers the launch window, and prices are on the price and buying guide.

PC and Mac: the hardware half of the question

Windows and Mac are both listed on the Steam store page, with no Linux build listed at all. The published Windows numbers sit on the system requirements page.

Mac is the narrower door. The store requires macOS 14 Sonoma on an Apple M2 chip with 8 GB of RAM, or an M2 Pro with 16 GB, and it states in plain text that Intel based Macs are NOT supported.

A second Mac caveat sits in the published known issues: some older Macs may have performance problems or crashes, "particularly those with less than 16 GB of RAM", and the official advice is Low graphics settings. The Steam Deck and performance guide covers that and external drives.

Controller support: two official statements, both true

The FAQ says Loftia "is fully playable with controller / gamepad, in addition to keyboard and mouse". The Steam store category list still says Partial Controller Support, and the demo carries the same entry. The FAQ is the studio's own sentence; the category is Valve's metadata field. Neither cancels the other, and the demo shows the gap is real in places: settings navigation on a gamepad needs the D-Pad, and mixing mouse and pad leaves the Loftia cursor stuck on screen. Workarounds are in the controls and gamepad known issues guide.

Nintendo Switch in 2027

The Switch is the only platform beyond PC and Mac with an official commitment, and that is a year, not a date. The FAQ says "Nintendo Switch will come in 2027" and adds the condition that matters for anyone planning around it: online play on the Switch requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership, priced at $20 per year in the US. That is the one subscription in the picture, and it comes from Nintendo, not the studio.

Switch is also the platform most likely to be confused with crossplay. It is not: a 2027 Switch release means Loftia will run on Nintendo hardware, not that a Switch player can join a Steam session.

PlayStation, Xbox and mobile: not announced

Console and mobile searches for Loftia are real, and the results are all other games. Nothing on the official FAQ, the Early Access page or the Steam store page names PlayStation, Xbox, iOS or Android. The honest answer to "when is Loftia on PlayStation" or "is Loftia coming to mobile" is that the studio has not said and no date is published. Any date in a forum post or video thumbnail is a guess, not a schedule.

Crossplay: the exact official position

The developer's answer, quoted exactly: "Cross-play is something we're aiming for! We're currently conducting research and testing to help us decide if we can support it. We can't promise it just yet - but know that we will try our best to make it happen, and will let everybody know when we make a decision."

The line that follows it: "Please note that you will need to purchase the game on each platform that you wish to play it on."

Crossplay is not confirmed for launch

The FAQ says the studio is aiming for crossplay, is running research and testing, and cannot promise it yet. Until they announce a decision, assume a Steam copy and an Epic copy are two separate purchases, and that playing with a friend on the other storefront is not something you can rely on.

The purchase rule has teeth: if you own Loftia on Steam and your friend owns it on Epic, there is no published mechanism for the two of you to meet in the same neighborhood, so buy on the storefront your group is actually using.

Loftia is always online, and only players on the same server can play together, though you are never locked to one. The multiplayer and servers guide covers the server list in practice.

What happens on November 3, 2026

Early Access opens on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST, which is 02:00 on November 4 in Beijing time, and the same build arrives on Steam, on Epic and, in the studio's wording, on Mac and PC with Steam Deck support. The free Next Fest demo running October 19 to October 26, 2026 lets you test your hardware before buying, and everything you do in it carries over. One demo detail matters if you enjoy picking a name: a character name claimed during the demo is released back into the pool if you do not log into Early Access between November 3, 2026 and February 3, 2027. Carryover rules and the demo rewards are in the demo progress and what carries over guide.
