All 15 official Loftia NPCs with their roles, from Milo the Repair Specialist to Dr. Marie, the botanist who built the first hydroponic machine.

Loftia NPCs and Character List: All 15 Official Residents

Loftia has 15 named NPCs, and the developers have published every one of them: name, job title, portrait and biography, all on the official site. The roster runs from Milo the Repair Specialist and his twin sister Mita the Gridfall Manager to Dr. Marie, the Botanical Scientist who built Loftia's first hydroponic machine. Herb and Mita also run the two districts you cannot enter yet, Gridfall and the Hanging Gardens, opening in Early Access on November 3, 2026.

  • All 15 residents, in official order, with the exact occupation string the developers publish.
  • Two sibling pairs matter for questing: Milo and Mita are twins, and Kun is Jun's older brother.
  • The Chinese-language site renames all 15, so match a guide by job title, not transliteration.

The complete 15-NPC roster

The occupations below are the exact strings the developers publish, which matters when matching a quest giver to a wiki entry: Cliff is an Airtram Operator, not a mechanic, and Dr. Marie is a Botanical Scientist, not a farmer.

# Name Official occupation Who they are Role connects to
1 Milo Repair Specialist Junkyard tinkerer who can fix anything, eager to mend what is broken with his sister. Repairing and salvaging
2 Mita Gridfall Manager Gridfall's precise, quietly caring organisation expert, the structured twin to Milo's chaos. Gridfall, Early Access Nov 3
3 Amani Community Lead Engineer Practical and organised, sees the world in systems, patterns and solutions. Community quests
4 Estella Furniture and Decoration Expert Dramatic, intuitive Latin artist who believes your home mirrors your soul. Decoration, sold as cosmetics
5 Linda Fashionista and Thrift Shop Owner Chic tailor who calls fashion an everyday form of kindness. Outfits, cosmetic-only
6 Cliff Airtram Operator Rigid and safety-first, trusting protocol over spontaneity. Air tram travel
7 Hazel Seed Shop Owner Loves soil and sunshine, teaches farming while calling you peanut. Seeds, the demo's supplier
8 Herb Hanging Gardens' Caretaker Lifelong steward who trusts patience and cycles over speed. Hanging Gardens, Early Access Nov 3
9 Kassim Biodiversity Researcher and Fishing Expert Applied researcher who trusts observation, experimentation and data. Fishing, biodiversity
10 Kun Global Village Manager Stoic and sharp-eyed, rarely smiles, yet cares deeply about Loftia. Global Village
11 Jun Drinks Vendor & World Projects Volunteer Soft-spoken, certain kindness is a superpower. Drinks stall, World Projects
12 Leela Kinetic Dance Instructor Her classes generate literal electricity. Renewable energy
13 Atlas Museum Curator Gen-Z archivist obsessed with old-timey fragments of the past. The museum
14 Ryder Adventurer Fearless, sociable, improbably brilliant as an astronomer. Adventure quests
15 Dr. Marie Botanical Scientist Invented Loftia's first hydroponics machine. Hydroponics

Herb's Hanging Gardens, Mita's Gridfall and the Hydroponics Stations behind Dr. Marie's work all arrive in Early Access on November 3, 2026. No resident has a published level, gift preference, schedule or friendship reward, so treat such tables as guesswork.

Two sibling pairs that shape the roster

Milo and Mita are the pair players ask about first: the developers write them as opposites, not duplicates. Milo's card ends by saying he is eager to fix anything, especially what is broken with his sister. Mita's card calls her the structured twin to his chaos, and says fixing things perfectly protects what matters. The split runs across the demo boundary, since Gridfall itself is not in the demo.

Kun and Jun are the other pair. Kun runs the Global Village, a stoic tsundere with a soft spot for order, books and his little brother. Jun runs a drinks stall and volunteers on World Projects, soft-spoken and certain that kindness is a superpower. Manager and volunteer, opposite ends of the same community.

Match the four siblings by job title, not by nickname

Milo and Mita are the only twins in the roster and Kun and Jun the only brothers. When a guide drops a first name with no title, search on the job: Gridfall Manager is Mita, Global Village Manager is Kun, Drinks Vendor is Jun.

One caveat on relationships: the official FAQ states that Loftia will not feature romance options at this stage, that you can build friendships with everyone, and that NPC friendships are planned. The sibling and colleague links above are the confirmed relationship content.

Pebble is the 16th face, and he is not on the list

Pebble is not one of the 15. He is Loftia's resident chinchilla according to the November 2022 developer blog, his name came from a community vote that narrowly beat Puffington, and he has no occupation card because he is a mascot. The demo's first World Project was his birthday party, scheduled for launch day. Patch notes #1 also fixed duplicate Pebble and Cliff characters in the crack-reveal cutscene.

Matching names across the English and Chinese sites

The official site ships a complete Chinese-language version, reachable from the language switcher at loftia.gg/zh-cn, and all 15 residents are renamed there. A Chinese guide, video or screenshot therefore uses names that will not match the list above. Match on job title instead: the Seed Shop Owner is the same person whether the page calls her Hazel or the Chinese transliteration, and the Airtram Operator is Cliff.

In-game translation was still being tested during the demo, adding a second layer of confusion. The known issues list, updated October 21, 2026, says some strings may still appear in English, including UI elements and quest text, and that text assembled dynamically in game, such as clover colours, comes out with the wrong word order in other languages. A Chinese-language player can see an English name beside a translated description.

Who you can actually meet in the demo

The demo is Loftia City and nothing else, and it is the free Next Fest demo on the Steam page. The official demo page says you start your adventure there, meet NPCs, and that the questline ends right before you reach Hanging Gardens. The developers have never published a per-NPC availability list, but four residents are confirmed by official documents published on October 21, 2026, and two more belong to districts that do not exist yet.

NPC Confirmed demo status Documented in
Amani Quest Ready to Rumble; ignores skills levelled before the quest started Known issues, quests
Hazel Seed shop; her seeds are the demo's seed supply Known issues, inventory
Ryder His intro Adventure quest unlocks Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates in the Daily Goodies Chest Patch notes #1
Cliff Appears in the crack-reveal cutscene Patch notes #1
Pebble Star of the demo's birthday party World Project Official demo page
Mita Gridfall opens in Early Access on November 3, 2026 Official Early Access page
Herb Hanging Gardens opens in Early Access on November 3, 2026 Official Early Access page

The other nine residents, Milo, Estella, Linda, Kassim, Kun, Jun, Leela, Atlas and Dr. Marie, have no documented demo appearance, so the answer for each is unknown. The demo comes down on October 26, 2026, so walk Loftia City before then to settle it. The Loftia City guide covers the district layout, and the beginner guide has the route that takes you past most of the residents the demo introduces.

If a resident seems to float in midair, that is a listed bug, not a hidden effect: background NPCs may wander into unintended locations, including hovering in midair. Small thing, but it explains a lot of confused forum posts.

The hydroponics guide covers what is confirmed about Dr. Marie's machines; the hanging gardens guide covers Herb's district.

FAQ

How many NPCs are in Loftia? Fifteen named residents on the developer-published roster, plus Pebble the chinchilla, a community mascot and the star of the first World Project, not one of the 15. The official New NPCs artwork pairs the eight revealed faces with six silhouettes the developers have not named yet, so 15 is the published count, not necessarily the final one.

Who is Milo's sister? Mita, the Gridfall Manager. Milo's card says he especially wants to fix what is broken between him and his sister, and Mita's card calls herself the structured twin to his chaos. She runs Gridfall, opening in Early Access on November 3, 2026.

Can you romance Loftia characters? Not right now. The official FAQ states that Loftia will not feature romance options at this stage. You can build friendships with everyone, and NPC friendships are a planned feature, so expect that system later rather than in the demo.

Which Loftia NPCs can I meet in the Next Fest demo? Amani, Hazel, Ryder and Cliff are confirmed by the official known issues list and patch notes of October 21, 2026, and the demo World Project is Pebble's birthday party. Mita and Herb belong to Gridfall and the Hanging Gardens, opening in Early Access on November 3, 2026. No full availability list exists for the other nine.

Where do I buy seeds in Loftia? Hazel's seed shop is the only confirmed seed source in the demo. If seeds you need for a quest, or bought from Hazel, do not appear in your bag, hold R to open the tool wheel and add them from your inventory. The farming guide has the planting loop.
