Loftia Cooking and Recipes: What's Known

Loftia cooking so far: Cooking is an official proficiency, Jun runs a drinks stall, and no official recipe list exists before Early Access on Nov 3, 2026.

Loftia Cooking and Recipes: What's Known

Quick answer: Loftia cooking is a real, named proficiency — the official Early Access page lists Farming, Crafting, Cooking and Fishing as the activities you level — but Qloud Games has never published a recipe table. As of the October 2026 Steam Next Fest demo there is no official ingredient list, price list or station list in any Loftia-owned material. Everything that looks like a Loftia recipe list today comes from community databases and fan guides built on closed-beta and demo play. The real recipe table lands when Early Access opens on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST.

  • Official: Cooking is a proficiency you level; Early Access lifts the demo's Level 5 cap and adds Perks.
  • Official: Jun is Loftia's Drinks Vendor, and wind-turbine electricity is meant to power cooking.
  • Community-reported, demo-era: cherry smoothies made at a home cooking station, sugar from Kun for 5 Dew, smoothie sold for 20 Dew.
  • Published nowhere official: recipe list, ingredient quantities, dish prices, cooking XP rates.

What cooking actually is in Loftia right now

Cooking shows up in Loftia's systems as a proficiency — a skill track you level alongside Farming, Crafting and Fishing. The developer's own framing comes from the Early Access page, not a demo milestone:

Official source: Loftia Early Access

The page says Early Access lets you push past the demo's Level 5 cap in activities such as Farming, Crafting, Cooking and Fishing, then spend points on Perks.

Two consequences follow. First, cooking progression is an Early Access payoff: in the Next Fest demo (October 19 to 26, 2026) every proficiency is capped at Level 5, and the cap comes off on November 3, 2026 with the Perks tree — see the proficiencies and perks guide for what the point spend changes. Second, cooking is a separate track from Crafting, even though both sit under the same progression menu: a cooking station is not a crafting bench, and recipes feed off farming and foraging rather than the salvage-and-refine loop in crafting basics.

The Steam store page never mentions cooking; its feature list covers farming, crafting, decorating and exploration, and so does the demo's own list — Farming, Decorating, Sharing, Salvaging resources, Adventures and Social. Cooking is the least-advertised system in the game.

Energy is the second official thread. The January 2023 developer blog describes Qloud Games' airborne wind turbines feeding electricity into crafting, cooking, exploration and powering your own home:

That post predates the Kickstarter era, so read it as design intent rather than shipping spec. It still explains why cooking sits inside the renewable-energy loop: a dish costs power, and that power comes from sun, wind and rain. The demo's first patch also made solar panels generate more energy in rain and at night. No official source describes a hunger or eating-for-energy system, so claims that you must eat to restore energy have no basis in Loftia's own material.

Jun and the one confirmed food-and-drink vendor

The only food-and-drink role the developer has published belongs to Jun: Drinks Vendor and World Projects Volunteer. Kun, the Global Village Manager, is the other merchant players deal with: community reports have sugar bought from him, and his official card mentions an unnamed little brother — which is why the pair is read as siblings.

What that does not give you is a menu. Jun's stall inventory, his prices, and whether he buys player-made dishes are published nowhere — not on the official site, not on the Early Access page, not in the FAQ. The NPC and character list has all 15 residents with official occupations, the cross-check to use when a guide claims some stranger sells ingredients.

One more official clue sits in the demo patch notes. The first demo patch rebalanced audio "including quieter vending machines", confirming vending machines exist as interactive props in the demo world:

The same patch quieted rivers, fire pits and Pebble's wave — the demo's stalls sit in an ambient world.

The community recipe data, dated and unconfirmed

Community testers produced the only working recipe data so far, in two shapes that disagree in places.

Fan guide numbers (demo-era, community-reported, checked October 22, 2026). A circulated fan beginner guide spells out the loop: buy sugar from Kun for 5 Dew, gather cherries, go home, use the cooking station to make a cherry smoothie, then sell it for 20 Dew. It counts the profit as 15 Dew on one 5-Dew portion of sugar with no other costs, and warns that prices and requirements may change.

Item Value Status
Sugar, one portion 5 Dew Community-reported, demo-era
Cherry smoothie sell price 20 Dew Community-reported, demo-era
Implied profit per smoothie 15 Dew Community-reported, excludes other costs
Progression from cooking Progress toward the Cooking proficiency Community-reported, matches the official list
Cooking location A cooking station in the player's home Community-reported

Fan database item names (closed-beta and demo data, community-reported, checked October 22, 2026). Community item databases pulled from the closed beta and the demo split cooking into ingredients, meals and drinks:

Group Examples reported by community databases
Cooking ingredients Butter, Milk, Egg, Cooking Oil, Sugar, Salt, Honey
Meals Carrot Soup, Chef Salad, Garden Salad, Shakshuka, Egg Scramble, Banana Curry, Ratatouille, Miso Soup, Banana Pudding, Carrot Cake, Pancakes, Waffles
Drinks Fruit Smoothie, Power Smoothie, Eggnog, Cinnamon Tea, Coconut Water, Hot Chocolate, Sweet Soymilk

One reported meal has an official hook: a soup made from Bioluminescent Ivy, the glowing plant Qloud Games published with five named flower variations.

Official source: Loftian Skies, February 2023 edition

Those databases advertise several hundred recipe entries in total — a database size, not a game count, since fan databases list variants that get cut or renamed. What ships as food will come from the crops list and this page once crops can be traced seed to dish.

What food trades in

Every community-reported price circulates in Dew, the name players use for the soft money that buys seeds, plots and permits. Loftia's own pages do not name the currency, so treat the label as community-reported and every number attached to it the same way. Players also report Dew is capped at 5,000 in the demo, with 5,000-Dew and 10,000-Dew plots behind that cap.

The farming half of the loop is documented better than the cooking half: checking seeds at Hazel shows what each crop sells for, which is how a cook gets an ingredient price before planting. Crop selection is covered in farming basics and hydroponic variants in hydroponics and super crops.

What the official recipe table still needs to answer

This page is updated against the following checklist when Early Access opens on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST (November 4, 02:00 Beijing time):

Question Status on October 22, 2026 Source tier
Is Cooking a proficiency? Yes Official, Early Access page
Level cap on Cooking Level 5 in the demo; cap removed at EA Official, Early Access page
Perks for the Cooking track Not published; EA adds Perks to all proficiencies Official, Early Access page
Full recipe list with ingredients Not published —
Ingredient quantities per dish Not published —
Cooking XP per dish Not published —
Cooking station name and placement Not published (community: home cooking area) Community-reported
Dish sell prices Not published (community: 20 Dew for a cherry smoothie) Community-reported
Jun's stall inventory and prices Not published —
Treat the community recipe data as a map, not a manual

The community data gives you the shape of the system — ingredients, a home cooking station, dishes that turn crops and foraged fruit into Dew. It will not survive Early Access unchanged, and the fan guide behind the 5-Dew and 20-Dew figures says prices and requirements may change. Use the numbers for orientation, then verify against your own inventory and the in-game tooltip.

FAQ

Is there an official Loftia recipe list? No. As of October 22, 2026 the official Early Access page, FAQ, demo page and Steam store listing contain no recipe table, ingredient quantities or dish prices. Everything in circulation is community-reported.

Can you cook in the Loftia demo? Community play in the Next Fest demo (October 19 to 26, 2026) shows a cooking station in the player's home and dishes made from foraged fruit, so cooking exists in the demo. It is not on the demo's advertised feature list, and every proficiency stays capped at Level 5 until Early Access opens on November 3, 2026.

Where do you buy cooking ingredients in Loftia? Community reports point at Kun for sugar and Hazel for seeds, while Jun runs the drinks stall. Official sources confirm only the occupations, not ingredient price lists or stall inventories.

What currency do Loftia food items trade in? Dew, by community report — the soft currency used for seeds, plots and permits. One community-reported demo example has a cherry smoothie selling for 20 Dew after a 5-Dew portion of sugar. Loftia's own pages name neither the currency nor its cap.

Will Loftia recipes change when Early Access starts? Treat them as likely to. The fan guide behind the demo-era prices warns that selling prices and recipe requirements may change, and the developer has said the Early Access page will be updated before the November 3, 2026 launch.
