Loftia City is the only district in the demo: where the opening questline runs, which NPCs you meet, and where the demo ends before Hanging Gardens.
Loftia City Guide: The Demo District
Loftia City is the only district you can walk into right now. In the free Next Fest demo running October 19 to October 26, 2026, the opening Loftia City questline is the whole game: meet residents, salvage resources, grow crops, decorate a home in a shared neighbourhood. The chain stops just before Hanging Gardens, and Gridfall arrives with Early Access on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST. No official map exists, so this guide maps the district by what the official demo page, the known-issues list and patch notes 1 document.
- Only Loftia City is playable in the demo, and the questline ends just before Hanging Gardens.
- Hanging Gardens and Gridfall arrive in Early Access on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST, 2am November 4 Beijing time.
- The Demo Banner unlocks on your first entry to the Player Neighborhood, reachable inside ten minutes.
- No official map image exists; navigation is the official tool wheel plus community-reported map pins.
- Proficiencies stop at Level 5 in the demo, a demo limit rather than the final ceiling.
The three districts and what is open today
Loftia has three districts, and the Steam demo store page puts it in one line: "Explore Loftia City in the demo, with more districts to discover in Early Access!"
| District | Demo status | What it is | Opens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loftia City | Playable now | Home district, opening questline | Demo, Oct 19 to Oct 26, 2026 |
| Hanging Gardens | Not in the demo | Peaceful floating island at the edge of the city: greenery, fishing spots, farms, a dark forest | Early Access, Nov 3, 2026 |
| Gridfall | Not in the demo | Salvaging district, a concrete jungle on old world ruins | Early Access, Nov 3, 2026 |

Official source: Loftia Steam Next Fest demo page
The boundary is the point: the demo is Loftia City, and the questline ends just before Hanging Gardens. Everything past that line is Early Access content, per the official Early Access page.
The Loftia City questline, step by step
The developers name four quest beats that matter in a city run, and two are currently misbehaving.
| Quest or beat | Who | What the official pages say | Status, October 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ryder's opening Adventure quest | Ryder | Gates Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates in the Daily Goodies Chest | Working; patch #1 rebalanced the drop |
| Ready to Rumble | Amani | Ignores skills levelled before the quest, needs 3 more | Known issue, no fix listed |
| Finding Scrambled Coordinate | Resource nodes | Coordinates can drop from harvesting any resource node | Working; patch #1 raised the drop rate |
| Daily Do Good | The Project Bot | Talking to the bot does not advance the quest | Broken; advanced manually on Discord |
Order matters. Ryder's opening adventure is the gate: until you clear it, the Daily Goodies Chest stays empty of Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates.
Patch notes #1 changed the chest so Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates only unlock after you complete Ryder's intro Adventure quest. If the chest looks empty, that is the gate, not a bug.
For the ordered first-session route, read the Loftia beginner guide; for the challenge content above it, see Loftia adventure gauntlets.
The residents you meet in Loftia City
Qloud Games publish all 15 residents with a title for each, and those titles are the only official district markers.
| Resident | Official occupation | Connection to Loftia City |
|---|---|---|
| Ryder | Adventurer | Gates the chest items |
| Amani | Community Lead Engineer | Gives Ready to Rumble |
| Hazel | Seed Shop Owner | Sells the quest seeds |
| Estella | Furniture and Decoration Expert | Decoration side of your home |
| Linda | Fashionista and Thrift Shop Owner | Runs the thrift shop |
| Jun | Drinks Vendor and World Projects Volunteer | Drinks stall, Pebble's party |
| Kun | Global Village Manager | Civic side of the city |
| Cliff | Airtram Operator | Runs the air tram |
| Milo | Repair Specialist | Resident, Mita's brother |
| Leela | Kinetic Dance Instructor | Dance classes make power |
| Dr. Marie | Botanical Scientist | Built the first hydroponic machine |
| Mita | Gridfall Manager | Gridfall, Early Access content |
| Atlas | Museum Curator | The museum is in Gridfall |
| Herb | Hanging Gardens' Caretaker | Hanging Gardens, the demo's edge |
| Kassim | Biodiversity Researcher and Fishing Expert | Fishing spots sit in Hanging Gardens |
No official floor plan exists, so read the last column as each character's district by official role. Every portrait and title is on the Loftia NPC and character list.
Salvage nodes and the Daily Goodies Chest
Salvaging is the demo's resource engine, documented unusually well. The official known-issues list says Scrambled Coordinates have a chance to drop from harvesting any resource node, and patch notes #1 clarified where to find them for Ryder's quest and raised their drop chance.
The chest is the other half. Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates from it unlock after Ryder's intro Adventure quest, so it rewards finishing the opening adventure rather than a random drop you can grind. The drop chain is in the Loftia salvaging and item fragments guide.
Item fragments sometimes stay uncombined even when you have enough pieces, and seeds bought from Hazel can sit invisible in your bag. The official workarounds are physical: drop the fragments and pick them back up, and hold R (or the matching gamepad button) to open the tool wheel, then click the item to pull it out.
The Player Neighborhood and your home
Your home is a place, not a menu. The demo asks you to decorate a home in a shared neighbourhood, and the Steam store page describes the model: your own floating island, linked with others into neighbourhoods.
The Player Neighborhood is the first stop, reachable within ten minutes, and entering it for the first time unlocks the Demo Banner. The other two demo rewards are social: invite one friend for the Pebble Chair, two friends for the Pebble Couch.
House Showcase, for looking at other players' homes, was visibly broken until patch notes #1 fixed being sent back to the login screen when checking results. See the Loftia decorating and furniture guide and the Loftia house showcase guide.
Loftia City map: what exists and what does not
This is the most searched version of the question: Qloud Games has never published a map of Loftia City. The official press kit offers a fact sheet, screenshots, a press release, key art and a logo, and no map, while the demo page, the Early Access page and the FAQ describe the districts in prose only.
| Navigation tool | What it does | Source level |
|---|---|---|
| Tool wheel | Opens on a held R; click a bag slot to pull an item out | Official, known-issues list |
| Tool wheel tutorial | Since patch #1 it shows during planting, up to four minutes | Official, patch notes #1 |
| Map pins | Pin an NPC or objective to find it again | Community-reported |
| Quest objective markers | The on-screen objective through the storyline | Official quest UI |
Official source: Loftia known issues and patch notes
Community walkthroughs report map pins for tracking NPCs that are easy to miss, but that is a community report, not a documented feature. The tool wheel is the one navigation tool the developers put in writing, and it matters because seeds are what players lose.
What the demo limits cost you in the city
| Limit | In the demo | At Early Access launch, November 3, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Districts | Loftia City only | Hanging Gardens and Gridfall added |
| Quest chain | Ends before Hanging Gardens | Continues into the next district |
| Proficiencies | Capped at Level 5 | Cap removed, Perks to spend points in |
| Pets | Met, not ownable | Adoption, care and dressing up |
Progress is not thrown away. Quests, items, progression and your character name carry into Early Access, provided you link your loftia.gg account in game before the demo window closes on October 26. The three-month name rule is in the Loftia demo progress guide, and the Level 5 cap and Perks are in Loftia proficiencies and perks. Pad players should read the Loftia controls and gamepad guide: the store lists Loftia as Partial Controller Support while the official FAQ calls it fully playable with a controller.
FAQ
Is there an official map of Loftia City? No. The press kit has a fact sheet, screenshots, a press release, key art and a logo, and nothing that maps the city. Treat any map online as a fan diagram.
How long does the Loftia City demo run, and does my progress survive? October 19 to October 26, 2026, alongside the October Steam Next Fest. Quests, items, progression and your character name carry into Early Access on November 3, 2026, if you link your loftia.gg account in game.
Why is there no Bloom in the Daily Goodies Chest? Patch notes #1 gated it. Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates from the chest only unlock after you complete Ryder's intro Adventure quest.
Can I reach Hanging Gardens from Loftia City during the demo? No. The demo questline ends just before you reach the next district, and Hanging Gardens is Early Access content arriving November 3, 2026. Gridfall arrives at the same time.
Where do I buy seeds in Loftia City, and why can I not find them? Seeds come from Hazel, the Seed Shop Owner. If a seed you bought from Hazel does not appear in the bag, hold R to open the tool wheel and click the item to add it.
